5th Casualty Found in Balibago Building Rubble
Rescuers have recovered the fifth casualty in the Balibago building rubble this morning. According to the latest news, at around 7:57 AM, authorities have retrieved the body of a male victim during the search, rescue, and retrieval operations of the Bureau of Fire Protection team.
Heavy debris poses a challenge for the SRRO team to retrieve the bodies and rescue the possible survivors of said incident. Currently, the team is using heavy equipment and K-9 units to clear pathways and locate victims beneath the rubble.
On May 24, Sunday, at around 2:30 AM, a nine-story under-construction building in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City, collapsed. While the retrieval operations are still underway, the current death toll has now reached five casualties, with 16 others still missing.
