AI-Generated Posts Prompt Senator Risa Hontiveros to Take Action, Call Out

“STOP THE LIES!” Hindi ako humihingi ng anumang pag-endorso kay ALEX EALA. Meta, please do something about these AI-generated posts.” This was her response to Jay Sonza’s and Malou Tiquia’s posts about her asking for endorsement from Alex Eala.

Shortly after, on the same day, the senator’s official Facebook page posted a short video with the caption, “Calling on Meta to DO SOMETHING about these AI-generated posts!”

On Maundy Thursday, a new post surfaced, this time about her response to Jing Paras’s post featuring several AI-generated photos of the senator cutting grass with a bolo and drinking from a water bottle in the middle of a forest.

“ISA PANG KASINUNGALINGAN! Walang katotohanan sa AI-generated post na ito. Maging mapanuri. AGAIN, calling on Meta to take action!” She said.

Additionally, on the same day, Senator Risa Hontiveros expressed her frustration and imparted a reminder to Filipinos.

“Pakiusap sa ating mga kababayan: Huwag po tayo magpadala sa fake news peddlers na overtime sa pagpapakalat ng kasinungalian laban sa akin at sa aking opisina. Kahit ngayong Semana Santa, imbes na gumawa ng tama ay walang silang tigil sa pagpapakalat ng fake news at fake AI content, para abusuhin ang inyong atensyon. Huwag natin hayaan manaig ang kasinungalingan nila.”
